　　Distinguished Mr. Brian Gallagher, president of UWW, distinguished Madam Chen, honored president of SCF, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon.

　　Autumn in Shanghai is the most beautiful season here in the city, in such a wonderful time, we lunch Shanghai Charity Foundation-United Way Fund with all of you attending as a witnesses. Here I would like to expend on behalf of Shanghai Charity Foundation a warm welcome and respect to all distinguished guests.

　　126 years ago, a charity organization was born in Denver, USA. During the development history over 100 years, it mobilize social resources, carry out unit fundraising, has made outstanding contribution for changing the life quality for US citizens even the global citizens. It innovates the model of management, formulate global standard, and enlarges the area of cooperation into more than 40 countries. Thus, its has a world-renowned name–United Way Worldwide.

　　19 years ago, Shanghai Charity Foundation has be established, during the development in almost 20 years, we based in Shanghai, serve for the whole China, has made positive contribution for spreading charity ideas, advancing and enriching philanthropy spirit and maintaining social harmony. We insist open and transparent, sincerity service and gain wide range acknowledge from all sectors of society.

　　Compare with UWW, we are still a young organization. But we have much in common between us. The slogan of UWW is“LIVE UNITED”; the slogan of us is“Doing Charity by the Society and for the Society.”The key point what UWW focus is“Education, Income and Healthy”. According to the physical truth, what we focus on is“Nursing the Old, Nurturing the Young, Sponsoring the Education and Supporting the Needy.”Common goal and value make us walk together. From 2002, under the support of China Charity Federation, UWW and SCF has enhanced understanding one another and established a good relationship by work exchange, professional training and project development activities.

　　Autumn is a season of gaining. Today, we are here together to held the“SCF-UWW FUND”establishment ceremony, which is a symbol of a new achievement of our cooperation as well as a symbol of our cooperation has already stepped into a new stage. I hope that based on this special fund we can develop the advantages of the combination of us, offer high-quality service for business circles in Shanghai, especially for overseas-funded enterprise and foreign friends who want to dedicate for the society. We will also take this opportunity to learn the management experiment and work model from UWW and further promote our service.

　　Finally, I would like to spread my gratitude to China Charity Federation, Shanghai Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai Municipal Education Committee, Shanghai Administration Bureau NGOs, for your consistent support and guidance to SCF in carrying out international communication and exploiting public welfare programs. I would also like to thank all the companies and international friends present today, for your great support and help for the establishment of Shanghai Charity Foundation-United Way Fund.
